Baby Boy Card

Here is a card I made for a baby boy using patterned paper and some stamp sets. The babies are from the Stampin' Up set called Baby Firsts and I'm sorry that I don't know who made the alphabet set.  It is a clear set and I didn't keep the packaging on that one.
I paper pieced the clothes on the babies using the patterned paper. I punched out the letters with a 1 3/8" circle punch. Then I doodled lines around the circles to make them stand out more. I added some doll hair to one of the babies for a comic effect. It still makes me laugh! :D
I glued all the elements to a piece of white cardstock cut with the Bigz Top Note die.
Welcome baby Mason!

Art Journal - African Sunset

For this two page spread I first painted the background sunset with acrylic paints. After that was dry, I used a stencil for the animals and tree and grasses and sponged black acrylic paint to complete the scene. I had to paint in the grey colour of the giraffe. I wanted a stark contrast from the background and foreground elements.
Here are the pages shown individually.

Have a fabulous, creative day! Try using a stencil on your journal page today.
Take care. :D

Art Journal (Kraft paper) - Experimental stash

I have lots of pieces of art that I have done when trying a new technique or a new tool or medium or stamp etc. I call it my experimental stash.
I gessoed this page in my journal that has kraft coloured paper and did some painting and stamping layers for the background. I chose several things from my experimental stash to create this page. I then did some shading to make the objects stand out from the page.
Have fun experimenting with your stash! :D

Art Journal - Celery Stamped Roses

What fun! Stamping with celery!

Celery Roses? Sure!
I cut off the bottom 3 inches of a bunch of celery and applied paint to the cut end and stamped on a prepared background. After the images dried, I drew in some details with a black marker. I then added some stickles glitter to the flowers and drew and painted the stems and leaves.
I added the border details with paint, ink  and stamping and also doodling with a paint marker.

I have many beautiful stamps, but sometimes it's great fun to use things you have around the house for stamping and background textures. It makes you look around your world with a new creative eye.
So go ahead.....play with your food!  :D
